Q:
Why Apostles and Prophets?
A:
Because the ministry calling of the Apostle and Prophet are
clearly established in Ephesians 4:11 "It was he who gave some
to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some
to be pastors and teachers." (NIV)
We
know that our God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He established
all of these ministry callings for the benefit of the Body of Christ,
yet the Body of Christ seems to have lost touch with two of these crucial
anointings! The role of Apostle is to provide vision and direction,
pioneering into new areas that the Spirit of God wants to impact.
The
role of Prophet provides key insight into what the Lord is saying to
His people at that very moment, revealing things He has planned and
telling them how to accomplish His will, often in a very specific way.
Q:
Why does Life Center use titles like Prophet, Apostle, Teacher, etc.?
A:
The same reason you call a Doctor a Doctor. We believe that we ought
to call a person according what they are. The Lord calls a person to
be an Apostle, or a Prophet, or an Evangelist. When that person has
been called, anointed, trained and released into their calling, it is
up to us to recognize them for what they are. Calling them by the name
that fits is an act of recognizing God's anointing in their life and
of reminding ourselves of their ministry calling. We are all part of
the Body of Christ and need to recognize each part according to its
purpose. Ultimately, doing so is for our own benefit!
Q:
Do you teach people to prophesy?
A:
Yes. We train Christians to hear the voice of the Lord. This is for
the purpose of edifying themselves and others. We teach and impart the
gift of prophecy in our Mini-Activation workshops, Introductory School
for Prophetic Training, Accelerated School for Prophetic Training, and
sometimes in our regular services. We do this while teaching proper
prophetic procedures, as expressed in the Bible and through the extensive
personal experience of our trainers.
Q:
Can anyone give a prophetic word?
A:
Yes. Just as any parent has something to say to their own child, even
if it is simple "I love you", we believe that God has something
to say to His children. It's not a matter of "if" God speaks,
but of how we can learn to listen to our Father in heaven.
Q:
What does "Current Truth" mean?
A:
We believe that that God is always revealing more and more of Himself
to His children. Just as the Children of Israel had to move with the
cloud through the desert, we want to make sure that we don't get tied
down to doing things the same old way that we always have. When God
starts moving in a new way, we want to be on the forefront of it!
Does
this mean that we are to be tossed by the wind? Not at all! The Word
of God is our constant anchor, as well as the guidance and direction
of mature leaders in the Body of Christ. We are not about being unstable
or immature in our Christian walk; we are about following God wherever
He leads.
Q:
Is Life Center part of a denomination?
A:
No, we are a non-denominational body. We are in fellowship with
Christian International Network of Churches in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
This ministry is led by Bishop Bill Hamon, and we are under the anointing
covering of this organization.
